About Cadence Rides
Cadence Rides is an indoor cycling app that runs in the browser. Your smart trainer rides real courses with their real elevation profile, including the bike courses of triathlons such as the 70.3 in Westfriesland and Knokke-Heist. Finn, a Dutch software developer and cyclist, built it as a hobby, because indoor cycling easily costs €15 to €20 a month.

The story
"I haven't been cycling for long, and when I wanted to train indoors, I was shocked by what it costs. So I built it myself. The first thing that worked was a bar that moved with how hard I pedalled. Then I wanted a real course, then I wanted to know how fast I'd go on it, and before I knew it there was a world around it." Cadence is in beta now: until 31 December there's a free pilot, to find out with the first riders what can be better.
What it does
- Real courses with the real elevation profile, from Flemish climbs to Kona and Lanzarote
- Your finish time at any power before you start, or the power for your target time
- A 3D world, ERG workouts, training plans and Cadence Ranked, a spin class as a game
- Friends, groups and leaderboards per course, and rides to Strava
- No install: it runs in Chrome or Edge. Not on iPhone or iPad, because Apple doesn't allow Bluetooth in the browser there
