Hamburg: the bike course

This is the bike course of the Ironman Hamburg, in Germany: 177 kilometres with 148 metres of climbing. The 180-kilometre bike leg of a full-distance triathlon.

It's almost flat, and that is exactly what makes it hard: you pedal the whole way, with no descent to recover on. Wind and an even pace decide your time.
